Amnesty International welcomes the consultation process aimed at developing a governmental action plan aimed at combating violence and discrimination experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people in France. The organization is concerned about a number of issues bearing a negative impact on their lives and resulting in the violation of their human rights. These concerns include the lack of comprehensive protection against discrimination on the ground of gender identity, the mandatory requirements for the legal recognition of the gender change and the barriers in accessing health care.
