Africa: Guidelines for African States to protect the rights of women and girls during the COVID-19 pandemic
Any measures taken to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic must uphold and protect human rights, including basic rights such as access to food and water, shelter and health services. States must ensure that their responses include a gender approach in order to guarantee the rights of all women and girls to live free of gender-based discrimination and violence, and to access essential sexual and reproductive health services, commodities and information.
