South Korea: Unfair trial concern: long-term prisoner Lee Hon-chi
AI is calling on the South Korean Government to review the case of Lee Hon-chi, who has been in prison since 1981 on charges of espionage. AI is concerned by allegations that he was tried unfairly and convicted largely on the basis of a confession obtained under torture. The organization believes that he may be a prisoner of conscience.
