Annex: Amnesty International letters re: pension funds’ role in human rights violations resulting from states’ use of NSO Group’s spyware

In October 2021, Amnesty International wrote to Alaska Permanent Fund Corps, Oregon Public Employees Retirement System, East Riding Pension Fund, and South Yorkshire Pensions Authority noting that they were directly linked to human rights abuse through their investment stake in Novalpina Capital, the private equity firm that backed the management buyout of NSO Group. This correspondence accompanies the briefing titled Operating in the shadows: Investor risk from the private surveillance industry.
