Indonesia: Open letter on the need to establish a prompt, impartial and thorough investigation into the death of environmental human rights defender Golfrid Siregar

In this open letter Amnesty International writes regarding the recent death of an environmental human rights defender Golfrid Siregar, who worked for Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (Friends of the Earth Indonesia) in North Sumatra (WALHI Sumut). The organization expresses deep concern about the incidents that led to his death and the possibility that these were connected to his human rights and environmental work. Amnesty International urges the initiation of a prompt, thorough, impartial and Independent investigation into the incident.
