On 31 July 1995 AI issued a document entitled The 1965 Prisoners: A Briefing (ASA 21/36/95). Attached to it was a list of prisoners still believed to be held in connection with the alleged coup attempt by the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) in October 1965. AI has since received confirmation that several of those in the original list were previously released. This document is an updated list.
