Fiji has imposed ‘no jab, no job’ and ‘no jab, no benefits’ policies that are not justified under international human rights law. Amnesty International urges the Fiji government to develop a clear, effective, and transparent information strategy to address vaccine uptake and misinformation in the country, rather than resorting to oppressive measures which may deprive people of their livelihoods. The Fijian government must work to protect the lives and livelihoods of people who are struggling to survive this pandemic and ensure that any steps taken to increase the uptake of Covid-19 vaccines are rooted in human rights, protecting those most at-risk.
