Bangladesh: New law designed to stifle civil society must be repealed

Bangladesh must repeal a new law that increases the government’s control of civil society organizations and could have a negative impact on the rights to freedom of expression and association. On 4 October 2016, the Bangladeshi Parliament passed the Foreign
Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation Bill (FDRB) 2016, and the President gave his final approval to the law on 13 October.
