St Lucia: Further information on death penalty: Stephen Mongroo
Stephen Mongroo, who was scheduled to be executed in St Lucia on 27 April 1995, has been granted a stay of execution. Two other prisoners scheduled to be executed this week have also been granted stays.

St LUCIA Stephen MONGROO
Stephen Mongroo, who was scheduled to be executed in St Lucia on 27 April 1995,
has been granted a stay of execution.
Since learning of Stephen Mongroo's execution, Amnesty International was
informed that another two prisoners were scheduled to be executed in St Lucia
this week; stays have also been granted in these cases. Amnesty International
does not know the reasons for the stays, and is seeking more information on
this.

present time.
