This report examines the impacts of coastal erosion and sea level rise on access to human rights, based on the situation of the community of Cedeño, located in the Gulf of Fonseca on the Pacific coast of Honduras. It also examines the links between such impacts and the forced displacement of people, both internally and outside the country. From the research carried out, Amnesty International can conclude that Cedeño is a paradigmatic example of the double injustice and lack of protection faced by those expelled from their territories due to the cumulative effect of the climate crisis and marginalization, being trapped between a lack of action by both the Honduran state and the international community in the face of climate change and the implementation of increasingly restrictive and inhumane migration policies.
