Honduras: Failing to implement human rights commitments: Amnesty International submission to the UN Periodic Review

In this submission, Amnesty International expresses concern about shortcomings in the administration of justice and widespread impunity. There are serious concerns with respect to human rights violations and abuses against human rights defenders, many killed or subjected to physical violence because of their human rights work. Other vulnerable groups suffer discrimination and inequalities, including Indigenous Peoples and peasant communities. Violence against women and girls and discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and inter-sex (LGBTI) persons as well as public security remain concerns.
