Amnesty International is submitting this briefing to the United Nations Human Rights Committee ahead of its examination of Haiti’s initial report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The document highlights ongoing human rights concerns in Haiti in relation to impunity for past human rights violations, discrimination of lesbian, gay, transsexual and intersex people, violence against women and girls, the rights of internally displaced peoples and restrictions on the freedom of expression, assembly and association.
