Cuba: New prisoner of conscience on hunger strike: Iván Fernández Depestre

Cuban activist Iván Fernández Depestre was arrested on 30 July during a peaceful march, and has been on hunger strike since. He was sentenced on 2 August to three years imprisonment on politically motivated charges. Amnesty International considers him a prisoner of conscience, detained solely for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of expression.
