In this submission, Amnesty International analyses the human rights situation in Chile and the measures taken to comply with the recommendations made to Chile in its previous UPR review.It also assesses the national human rights framework with regard to human rights violations committed in the past, the security agenda, the right to peaceful assembly, the prohibition against torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment, women’s rights, migrants and refugee’s rights, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, the situation of human rights defenders and the regulation of the national institution for human rights.
