Canada: Follow-up submission to the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women

The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women reviewed Canada’s combined eighth and ninth periodic reports in October 2016. In its Concluding Observations, the Committee requested information from Canada within two years on its implementation of particular recommendations relating to the need for greater government coordination and allocation of resources to address discrimination against women, including through the development of a National Action Plan, and the need to immediately address violence against Indigenous women and girls.
