Amnesty International submitted this input to the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, in order to provide an overview on selected patterns of unlawful pushbacks of migrants and refugees in the Americas region – particularly in the United States of America, Mexico, Canada, and Trinidad and Tobago. This is one of several regional submissions issued by Amnesty International in February 2021, in response to a call for inputs by the Special Rapporteur on “pushback practices and their impact on the human rights of migrants.”
