In line with the UN Human Rights Council’s mandate to prevent violations and to respond promptly to human rights emergencies, the undersigned 114 Organizations call on the Council to strengthen its action on Sudan. At its upcoming 54th session (11 September-13 October 2023), it should adopt a resolution establishing, without further delay, an independent mechanism on Sudan.
