In light of the unfolding human rights crisis in Sudan, and notwithstanding efforts to stop the fighting by the African Union (AU), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and other regional and international actors, we, the undersigned non-governmental organisations submitted this joint letter to urge delegations to address the human rights dimensions of the crisis by supporting the convening of a special session of the UN Human Rights Council.
