South Africa: Twitter Scorecard: Tracking Twitter’s progress in addressing violence and abuse against women online in South Africa

Twitter is a social media platform used by hundreds of millions of people around the world to debate, network and share information with each other. As such, it can be a powerful tool for people to make connections and express themselves. But for many women and non-binary persons across the globe and in South Africa, Twitter is a platform where violence and abuse against them flourishes, often with little accountability. This is the second edition of the Twitter Scorecard, tracking what progress, if any, the company has made over the last year as against ten indicators.
