This submission was prepared ahead of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Angola in January – February 2025. Amnesty International evaluates the implementation of recommendations made to Angola during its previous review, including in relation to the rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association, enforced disappearances, forced evictions and the right to an effective remedy. It ends with key recommendations which, if implemented, would contribute to improving the human rights situation in the country.
