The fifteen activists arrested between 20 and 24 June in Luanda, Angola remain in detention with no formal indictment since their arrest in connection with a peaceful meeting to discuss politics and governance concerns. An additional arrest was made on 30 June and peaceful protests calling for the activists’ release on 29 July and 8 August were met with police violence.
