Southern Africa: SADC Declaration on albinism a long overdue intervention

Amnesty International welcomes the adoption of the Declaration on the Protection of Persons with Albinism by the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) on 17 August 2024 at its summit in Harare, Zimbabwe. We urge SADC member states to follow through and effectively implement the commitments made by aligning their national legal frameworks to ensure they are inclusive and protect the rights of persons with albinism.
