Africa: Oral Statement on the Human Rights Situation in Africa at the 58th Ordinary Session of the ACHPR
This oral statement, delivered at the 58th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, calls for a renewed commitment to the protection of the regional human rights system and calls on states to refrain from actions that undermine the system, including attacks against or withdrawal of support from the system. It also highlights significant gaps in the African Union and the United Nation’s institutional response to crisis and conflict in a number of countries in Africa.
