Involvement of medical personnel in abuses against detainees and prisoners (revised and updated)

This paper reviews the evidence available to Amnesty International that medical personnel are involved in human rights violations such as torture, amputations, executions etc. It describes the nature of that involvement and cites some of those activities which, though legal under domestic law, violate international standards and can involve infringements of medical ethics. This paper supersedes ACT 75/05/90.
