Amnesty International is launching a major worldwide campaign, Security with Human Rights. It aims to expose governments that violate human rights in the name of national security or countering terrorism, or use the threat of terrorism as a pretext to undermine human rights. It will shine a light on violations committed in this context and demand that those responsible are held to account. It will also campaign for the rights of victims, whether they are the victims of violations committed by states or the victims of attacks on civilians by armed groups.
