Ahmed Berramila, Rachid Ennajar, Monji Souab, Jilani Hammami: There is concern for the safety of the four trade unionists named above who were arrested between 21 and 26 April 1997, and who have “disappeared” in secret detention. All four are members of the Union generale des travailleurs tunisiens (UGTT, Tunisian General Workers’ Union). Rachid Ennajar and Monji Souab are also members of the Tunisian Human Rights League (LTDH). Amnesty International considers all four men to be prisoners of conscience and is calling for their immediate and unconditional release.
