Tunisia: Aicha Dhaouadi - prisoner of conscience
Aicha Dhaouadi, a secondary school teacher from Bizerte and mother of a four-year-old girl, was arrested and imprisoned for nine months on 19 May 1995. She was convicted of belonging to an illegal Islamic organization and collection funds. Five wother women were also sentenced to prison terms in the same trial. AI considers Aicha Dhaouadi to be a prisoner of conscience and is calling for her to be released immediately and unconditionally.
