Tunisia: Further information on prisoner of conscience / health concern / legal concern: Khemais Ksila.

On 11 February 1998 Khémais Ksila, Vice-President of the Ligue Tunisienne des Droits de l’Homme (LTDH), Tunisian Human Rights League, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on charges of outrage to public order, spreading false information and inciting citizens to break the law. The sentence was upheld by the Appeal Court on 25 April 1998.
