Morocco: Submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review: First session of the UPR Working Group, 7-11 April 2008

In this submission, Amnesty International provides information under sections B and C (as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review). The Organization raises concerns over the death penalty, anti-torture legislation, and shortcomings of legislation on counter-terrorism and describes concerns related to impunity for past violations, restrictions on freedom of expression, refugees and asylum-seekers, and evidence of torture and other ill-treatment. Amnesty International makes a number of recommendations in the areas of concerns listed.
