AI is concerned that human rights violations continue to be committed by the Moroccan security forces in Western Sahara. Since 1975 hundreds of Sahrawi men and women have been arrested and “disappeared”. More than 300 of these “disappeared” were released by the Moroccan authorities in June 1991. AI welcomes these releases but remains concerned that hundreds of other “disappeared” remain unaccounted for.
