Amnesty International calls on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Qatari national and medical doctor Dr Mahmoud Abdulrahman al-Jaidah and investigate allegations that he was tortured in detention. On 3 March 2014 the Federal Supreme Court in Abu Dhabi is expected to deliver its verdict in his case after grossly unfair trial proceedings. He is a prisoner of conscience.
