UAE must not turn a blind eye to its human rights obligations in the wake of Dubai Government Summit
In this statement, Amnesty International expresses dismay at the apparent absence of human rights from the schedule of issues to be discussed at the UAE’s third Government Summit on 9-11 February in Dubai, this year under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”. Amnesty International reminds the UAE government that human rights and good governance are mutually reinforcing and that human rights safeguards must be at the heart of all discussions about the shaping of future governments and best government practices.
