Syria: Further information on prisoners of conscience/incommunicado detention/fear of torture and ill-treatment/legal concern/medical concern
'Muhammad Ra'dun was released on 3 November. He had been arrested on 22 May 2005 in connection with statements made by the human rights organization he heads, on human rights in Syria. Nizar Ristnawi remains in detention in Sednaya prison on the outskirts of Damascus. He continues to receive visits from his wife and is reported to be in good health. He is expected to be tried by the SSSC on 24 November, although it is not know what he is charged with and he is still not allowed access to a lawyer.
