Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories: Human rights defender detained for protest: Murad Shtewi
Palestinian human rights defender Murad Shtewi has been detained by Israeli forces since 29 April 2014 for his role in weekly peaceful demonstrations in his village. He is a prisoner of conscience. On 22 May a court rejected a petition for his release.
