Fazel Khodadad was sentenced to death on 22 August 1995 on charges of “sabotaging the country’s economic system”. He was also sentenced to 50 lashes for drug use and 99 lashes for an illegal sexual relationship with a woman (“M.H.”). She also received a sentence of 99 lashes, which was suspended for two years.
