, Index number: MDE 12/020/2003

Amnesty International is concerned at reports that a fifth anti-war activist, Marwan Hamdi, was detained on 15 April in the capital Cairo. His exact whereabouts are unconfirmed, but it is feared that he is being held incommunicado at premises of the State Security Intelligence (SSI) where he is at risk of torture or ill-treatment. The four other anti-war activists reportedly remain in incommunicado detention.
