Bahrain: End the systematic muzzling of peaceful dissenting voices

Amnesty International has today called on the Bahraini authorities to halt its relentless crackdown on the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly following a two month period which has seen the number of human rights defenders and political opposition activists banned from travelling outside the country, interrogated and charged, rise to at least 40. This call comes after the authorities’ have notably intensified their clampdown on freedoms in Bahrain since June 2016.
