Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries: Women deserve dignity and respect
This report is part of a project to analyse discrimination and violence against women in the GCC countries. The introduction describes the work being done by AI and local activists; Section 2 highlights key areas of international human rights law on violence and discrimination against women; Section 3 examines violence against women in the family; Section 4 considers the implications of discrimination and social practices; Section 5 reviews the situation of migrant domestic workers; Section 6 details the framework of international human rights law and the report concludes with a set of recommendations.
