Comments in response to the UN Special Representative of the Secretary General on Transnational Corporations and other Business Enterprises’ Guiding Principles – Proposed Outline (October 2010)
Amnesty International supplements its oral contribution to the outline in these comments. Re-emphasising the duties of States while advocating that companies ought to undertake human rights due diligence so as to prevent, minimize and address adverse human rights impacts have been positive developments. However, Amnesty International considers there are several fundamental issues within the Protect, Respect, Remedy Framework that must be addressed and makes appropriate recommendations in this document.
