Recommendations for strengthening the Universal Periodic Review in the context of the Review of the UN Human Rights Council: Submission to the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Review of the Human Rights Council
In the context of the Review of the Work and Functioning of the Human Rights Council, Amnesty International submits recommendations aimed at refining and strengthening the UPR. These recommendations are framed around the key stages of the review: the preparation, the dialogue in the UPR Working Group, the adoption of the outcome by the HRC, and the follow up of UPR commitments (unilateral and supported recommendations) at the national and international levels.
