ICC: Ensuring justice for women

This paper addresses the role of the International Criminal Court in the effort to ensure justice and human rights for women. It deals with the particular nature of human rights violations against women, such as systematic and large scale rape and sexual assault in the context of armed conflict. It also examines the special measures required to ensure effective investigation of crimes against women and how to ensure justice for women in the functioning of the court.
