This joint statement by Amnesty International, Association for the Prevention of Torture, International Rehabilitation for Torture Victims, Norwegian People's Aid, Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, International Helsinki Federation, and Fédération Internationale des Ligues des Droits de l'Homme highlights highlight two main areas where states need to use all means at their disposal, to give effect to and ensure respect for the absolute prohibition of torture and other ill-treatment, including in the context of countering terrorism.
