Slovak Republic: Further information on prisoner of conscience: Martin Bednar
Martin Bednar, a conscientious objector, was imprisoned in Presov prison on 24 February 1997 to serve a one year sentence for having refused to carry out military service. Amnesty International considers him to be a prisoner of conscience and is calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
