Czech Republic: Continuing discrimination of Romani children in education: Amnesty International submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review

In this submission, Amnesty International comments on the implementation of recommendations made to the Czech Republic during its first Universal Periodic Review in 2008 concerning widespread discrimination against Roma. Amnesty International is concerned that the authorities have failed to take credible measures to put an end to the discrimination of Romani children in their access to education. The organization also notes that the Anti-Discrimination Act has shortcomings which affect its effectiveness in ensuring access to remedies for victims of discrimination.
