Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Kosovo): Besim Rama and others: torture and unfair trial concerns
There is concern that Besim Rama and Avni Nura were arrested and illegally detained incommunicado from 17 September 1996 until the beginning of October 1996. Serious violations of the judicial process occurred during the trial that took place on 11 July 1997, including the denial of access to defence lawyers during their interrogation and the admission of evidence allegedly obtained through torture.
