Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Kosovo province): Ill-treatment / legal concern: Sami Kurteshi

Sami Kurteshi, an ethnic Albanian and a member of the Council for the Defence of Human Rights and Freedoms in Pristina, was reportedly beaten and arreste by police officers who searched the offices of the Council on 7 July 1993. In the course of the search, without a warrant, they reportedly confiscated a large amount of materials documenting human rights abuses, including video cassettes, photographs and written materials.
