Bosnia-Herzegovina: Abuses in Bosnian Serb areas: update
This document gives further information about the concerns described in the report "You have no place here": abuses in Bosnian Serb-controlled areas (EUR 63/11/94), issued in June 1994. New abuses reported against minorities in Serb-held areas include the beating of at least 40 Muslims and Croats queueing outside the offices othe UNHCR in Bajna Luka and forcing men to perform work close to front lines. AI welcomes reports of actions by the authorities to bring to justice perpetrators of rape, murder, extortion and banditry but remains concerned about the overall situation. Information is given about the movement of refugees out of Serb-controlled areas and about abuses in areas controlled by the authorities in the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
