Turkmenistan: Further information on fear for safety / incommunicado detention / possible prisoner of conscience: Nurberdi NURMAMEDOV
On 25 February 2000, Nurberdi Nurmamedov was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of "hooliganism". Amnesty International believes that the systematic ill-treatment of prisoners in Turkmenistan and the harsh prison conditions might place Nurberdi Nurmamedov's life in danger.
