Ilgar Javadov, an engineer, died following his detention at police station No. 9 in Baku’s Sabail district in the early hours of 13 May 2001. Ilgar Javadov’s relatives believe that he died after being severly beaten by police officers. There are also allegations that the investigation into his death was not conducted impartially.
