United Kingdom: Summary of concerns raised with the Human Rights Committee
In October the Human Rights Committee examined the fifth periodic report of the United Kingdom's implementation under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Whilst the Committee noted several improvements, it also identified several areas of concern and made 15 recommendations. Amnesty International welcomed many of the Human Rights Committee's comments and recommendations, and this document includes Amnesty International's own wide-ranging concerns.
